Narrow is the Path

on March 5, 2012

“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.  Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.”  Proverbs 4:14-15

Every day Satan prepares the battlefront with his attacks.  They come in various forms, and are targeted for our individual weaknesses.  As we try to walk the straight and narrow path, Satan also tries to put other paths in our sight that can easily get us sidetracked.  Just as Proverbs 4:14 warns, we should not enter into the path of the wicked.

Verse 15 advises us further when it says, “Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.” The easiest way to keep from going down evil paths is to avoid them all together.  The same advice is given to us in 1 Thessalonians 5:22, “Abstain from all appearance of evil.”  Making good choices to keep us out of the situations that tempt us is one way we can fight the devil.

My challenge for you today is to avoid the evil paths that Satan tries to lead you down.  Instead of being enticed by Satan’s wicked devices, fix your eyes upon the Lord, and only follow where He leads.

“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”  Matthew 7:14
