God Connect: Daily Renewing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit

“Boast not thyself of tomorrow, for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”  Proverbs 27:1

If asked what you were going to do tomorrow, I’m sure you’d have an answer of some plans you’re already made.  It’s hard to go through life with no plans for tomorrow or no plans for next week.  We must have somewhat of a plan to carry out our tasks.  This warning in Proverbs, however, has more to do with putting your confidence in tomorrow and especially in the thought of putting off salvation until tomorrow.

2 Corinthians 6:2 tells us, “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”  If you feel like God is drawing you to Him… if He’s calling you to repent, then don’t put it off.  If as a Christian you feel like God is calling you to serve Him in a greater capacity, then don’t delay.  We are never promised tomorrow.

My challenge for you today is to realize the urgency of following God’s leadership.  Allow Him to lead and guide you.  You never know what today holds or if you will face tomorrow, but by following God, you will be prepared either way.

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”  Ecclesiastes 3:1
