God Connect: Daily Renewing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit

Delivered From My Fears

on February 13, 2012

“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee:  he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”  Psalm 55:22

Sometimes it’s so hard to take your own advice.  It’s easy to brag about God’s faithfulness and be sure that He will work a situation out when it’s someone else facing the problem.  When it’s you facing the problem, however, that task is often easier said than done.  We know God promises us to work all things for our good.  We know that He has a perfect plan for us, and if He’s for us then no one can prevail against us.  We read the many promises He gives to us as His children.

In theory we believe He will work everything out, but when faced with a real-life situation, we find ourselves letting fear and doubt cloud our minds.  God has proven Himself to us time and time again.  Many times He’s probably saying to us what Jesus said to the disciples in Mark 4:40 when they were in a ship during a storm, “Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”

Today I challenge you, just as I’m challenging myself, to get rid of the fear and doubt in your mind.  You know that God will take care of you no matter what the circumstances, so stop trying to convince yourself otherwise.

“I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”  Psalm 34:4
