Your Labor Is Not In Vain

on February 4, 2012

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereunto I sent it.”  Isaiah 55:11

Sometimes we can get easily discouraged when we’re working hard but don’t see the fruits of our labors.  Whether it be physically working hard or mentally working hard, it can get frustrating to not see results.  You may have been praying for someone for many years or witnessing to others around you.  Maybe you’re in a church position and it seems like your work is ineffective or unappreciated.

Today I challenge you to push those thoughts of frustration for not seeing results, or the thoughts of inadequacy out of your mind.  God has already promised us in Isaiah 55:11 that His word would not return void.  We need to take Him up on that promise. God has a plan and purpose for each one of us and the work we’re doing for Him.  So today, don’t let yourself get discouraged, but trust God to use your work and effort in the way He sees fit.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”  1 Corinthians 15:58
