God Connect: Daily Renewing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit

“Take no thought for the morrow:  for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.  Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”  Matthew 6:34

I wonder how much time we waste worrying about tomorrow when we’re only promised the moment in which we live.  Lately, I’ve been consumed with the fact of knowing that God has a plan for me, and that He is working everything together for my good.  He reassures me of this promise time and time again, which is encouraging to me.  Yet, I think it’s easy to be so focused on God revealing His perfect plan for us that we often miss out on “today.”

I think it’s important for us to realize that today is all we have.  In knowing that, we should take every opportunity to share the gospel, show others we love them, serve God with all our might, and draw closer to Him.  If we take time to give our best to God today, we will find that we are too busy loving and serving Him to worry about tomorrow.

My challenge for you today is to stop worrying about the plans and “story” God has for your life, and instead get to know the author.  In turn, you will begin to see God’s perfection in every detail of your life.

“As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is a buckler to all those that trust in him.”  Psalm 18:30
