“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105

There are times in our lives when we desire for God to give us clear direction on His plans for us.  We often wonder if something is wrong or right.  We question how to best respond to certain circumstances.  Sometimes, we may even wish that life came with an instruction manual.  Thankfully, it does!

God knew there would be situations we’d face where we didn’t know the answers.  He knew we’d struggle to make the right decisions.  He knew we couldn’t properly figure it all out on our own.  That’s why He equipped us with His written word… the Bible.

Psalms 119:105 describes God’s word as a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.  In this life, we’re undoubtedly going to find ourselves walking down paths that are dark.  They might be filled with unfamiliar challenges where we can’t see how to get ourselves out.  At those times, we can find comfort in knowing that Gods’ Word can guide us and light our path.

We know that God’s Word can be helpful in times of trouble, but we shouldn’t wait until troublesome times to look to it.  We should be daily filling our hearts and minds with scripture to prepare us for what’s ahead.  Today, I challenge you to dive into God’s Word.  Set aside time daily to spend reading, studying, and meditating on God’s Word. In turn, God will lead you, guide you, and bless you.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
