God Connect: Daily Renewing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit

Where is Your Confidence?

on January 5, 2012

Isn’t it discouraging that sometimes, no matter how hard we try, things just don’t seem to go our way?  We try to work for the Lord, yet Satan fights us on every side.  He attacks our mind, body, and spirit.  Sometimes, we think it would be easier to throw in the towel and say we’re through.  We can’t see how God is working in the situation, and it gets frustrating. However, Philippians 1:6 reminds us this, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Although trials of this life get us down, and Satan attacks us from every angle, we can have confidence in the Lord.  He loves us, He has chosen us from the foundation of the world, and He has redeemed us.  We see the great and powerful things that God performed in the Bible.  We see His power, might, strength, and protection in the lives of others and in our own lives today.  Yet, when we are faced with adversity, we’re scared that God won’t come through for us.  We put confidence in ourselves and others and often get let down.  However, we can rest assured that when we put confidence in the Lord, He will not let us down.  He promises us in Romans 8:28 that if He called us and we love Him, He is working for our good.

I challenge you today to stand up to Satan’s attacks.  Do not let Satan attack you from every angle and in every opportunity, but rest assured in God’s promises that He is working for your good.

“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” Psalm 118:8
